Microenterprise

Anyone with a business will know how critical it is to have access to credit or loan. But in Africa, where the vast majority of rural people have neither access to banks, nor the necessarily collateral to secure small loans, the opportunity to develop income-generating enterprises can be extremely limited.

People are denied equal access to land, credit, inputs, transport, extension services, technical assistance, market opportunities and know-how. Loans from as little as $115 have allowed most people to start new farming activities, trading, local product production have enabled them to afforded opportunities to develop off-farm enterprises to earn a living.

These loans have been used by borrowers to purchase livestock, rear and fatten livestock, to begin poultry production, to start dress making, smaller business; Shea butter making, vegetable selling, market stalls, trading posts, shops, restaurants and much more.
We currently work with the villages of Biu, Gaani, Kologo and Tampola in the Upper East Region of Kassena/Nankana District, Ghana. Micro Loans from Sabu Help enable these subsistence farmers to expand their farms and to provide adequate food for their families. Sabu Help Micro Loans has helped them to afford to pay for their children's education. Learn more about the region.

Student Scholarship/Sponsorship

A chance to change lives

When you sponsor a student, you have the opportunity to help change not just the life of a student, but their family and community too. We ensure that each student has only one sponsor. However, many people choose to sponsor more than one child.

You’ll also have the chance to write to your sponsored child or even visit them to see firsthand the improvements brought about through your support.

What sponsorship does?

Sabu Help provides provides scholarships to promising but needy students so they can attain education when poverty would otherwise prevent them from continuing.  We believe that educating the underprivileged is the best investment in the future. By providing scholarship will assist them to obtain a college degree that will allow them to get a job or create one and gain economic self sufficiency.

Why Student Scholarship/Sponsorship?

Extreme poverty causes bad things such as children being sold as slaves or used in armies and getting no education. African poverty often means widespread hunger and starvation.  In Ghana and Africa, an astounding amount of people suffer and struggle to meet their daily most basic human needs (water, shelter and food). War, crime, poverty, hunger, malnutrition, diseases and the list goes on and on, but there is one root cause behind all of this – a lack of education.  Millions of the worlds less fortunate do not have the access to educational opportunities due mainly to the misallocation and distribution of resources. There are thousands of motivated and talented students who are unable to continue their education because they lack financial means.  We believe that education is the key to advancement and by helping these underprivileged students we can make a real contribution to the future of this world.

Thank you for your continued interest and assistance!
